Hospital Blood Tests

We recognise that patients find it convenient to attend the practice to have blood tests that have been requested by the hospital clinics. However, we are not contractually obliged to undertake them, except under very specific shared care agreements (contractual arrangements between the practice and our health board) You should only book an appointment for a blood test at the practice if it has been requested by one of our own practice clinicians. We understand that you may feel this to be an inconvenience, but we must ensure that patients attending for essential primary care instigated diagnostic tests, can do so in a timely manner. Booking in secondary care work, impacts access to primary care appointments for our patients.

Please contact your hospital clinic or consultant’s secretary to arrange these services.
